Andrey Davydov is a renowned Russian icon painter and the only artist in the world working in the ancient encaustic technique, used until the 12th century. His works are featured in churches around the world.
For guests of our hotel, he personally conducts guided tours of his studio and demonstrates the icon-making process. In addition, Andrey leads a unique fresco master class — a complex art of working with natural pigments on limestone.
The master class includes a theoretical part covering the history and techniques of fresco painting, followed by a practical session where you will create your own artwork under the guidance of the master. All materials and Andrey’s assistance are included.
The class is suitable for both beginners and experienced artists and is available for individual and group sessions. It is an excellent opportunity to learn an ancient craft and gain unforgettable impressions.
