Guided gathering in a lecture format

We invite you to immerse yourself in the world of a 19th-century Russian village and discover the everyday life of the Russian people. We will discuss topics that are usually very intriguing but rarely covered in school history courses.

You will learn how Russian peasants fell in love, got married, dressed up, celebrated, cheated, gave birth, fought, were sold, grieved, and rejoiced. This lecture is very likely to change your perception of village life and peasants as a whole.

You will learn:
• what young people actually did during village gatherings
• love games and premarital relationships
• the origin of the phrase “to promise does not mean to marry”
• marriage age and partner-assisted childbirth
• five-year-old nannies and nine-year-old husbands
• village fashion: how not to bankrupt your father
• the appearance and clothing of peasant women
• WEDDING: rituals, traditions, love charms
• schools and nurseries in Russian villages
• signs and superstitions of Russian peasants
In essence, the entire life cycle without embellishment — everything as it truly was. Breaking patterns and challenging stereotypes.
